Full Job Description
The Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technician will learn to perform the duties of a hospital-based Pharmacy Technician under the support and guidance of Pharmacy Staff.
As a Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technician you will complete competencies in the workplace and the Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice, which is delivered by the University of East Anglia.
On commencement of the two-year course the post-holder will be based in the dispensary building the Pharmacy Technician foundation skill set, which includes receiving prescriptions, labelling and dispensing medication, accuracy checking medication, counselling patients and providing our patients with great customer service., Attend all study days at the University of East Anglia as required. Which includes not taking annual leave in designated UEA study days.
Ensure all evidence requirements are completed and uploaded to their online portfolio before the submission deadline date, having ensured comment is received from their Educational Supervisor prior to submission and ensure study time is used effectively and completing additional study at home as necessary.
To achieve the Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice in order to be eligible for registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.

You will need to meet the eligibility requirements for the apprenticeship which includes 4 GCSE's or equivalent in English, Maths and Science at Grade 4/C or above. If you hold overseas qualifications you will need to apply to UK ENIC to verify that your prior education is equivalent to UK GCSE's.
