Full Job Description

UCB values and supports volunteers: they are recruited and trained as part of UCB's broaderprayer ministry and find support and spiritual growth through their service.This role leads on ensuring volunteers are called of God to the ministry of Prayerline, retainedand encouraged, supported in serving others, and find a place at UCB for community andtraining.Duties and Key Responsibilities:To recruit, train, support and nurture teams of Prayerline volunteers across the UK

  • With the wider Prayerline team, to ensure volunteers receive regular communication and
  • training and equipping for their roles
  • To ensure volunteer job descriptions and agreements are fit for purpose
  • To ensure all volunteers who operate on phones meet the necessary DBS requirements
  • To manage the inclusion of volunteers into the CRM, with the volunteer support lead
  • To successfully place all volunteers in a supportive team of up to 12 other volunteers
  • To monitor the retention, celebration, pastoral management and long term relationship
  • plans of existing volunteers, with the aim of continued relationship and prayer for and support of Prayerline in different forms during and after active volunteering service
  • To ensure volunteers are listened to, their feedback heard and expertise used where
  • appropriate
  • To identify volunteers who are specialists in particular types of difficult calls, and suggest
  • ways to draw on their expertise
  • To ensure the tools that volunteers are using on calls are appropriate
  • To organise volunteer support and training in liaison with the volunteer support lead
  • To manage the support & recruitment officer and communications officers, to ensure that
  • records are kept and all communications are of a high standard,
  • The commitment to participate in daily prayer time in order to promote team unity
  • Be an Ambassador of Christ and UCB delivering a distinctly Christian service to
  • colleagues, supporters and volunteers.
  • Be prepared to witness to the life changing message of Jesus and lead people to Christ
  • as appropriate
  • To develop ways of introducing UCBs story in a manner that is relevant and engaging
  • Must have a positive can do approach
  • Must have a flexible, resilient and reliable attitude

    Experience in praying with others is essential
  • Strong knowledge of Scripture and how this can be embedded in prayer
  • Strong communications skills; both written and verbal are essential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with sensitivity and
  • discretion
  • Fully computer and database literate
  • Ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks combined with an enthusiastic customer
  • service approach.
  • GCSE English and Maths Grade A - C
