Full Job Description

We're looking for a Practitioner Psychologist or Psychological Therapist to join our friendly, highly-skilled and enthusiastic community of psychological professionals in the Brighton & Hove Neighbourhood Mental Health Team. This is a 1 year fixed term 0.6 Band 7 post (22.5 hours). The post is based in the East Neighbourhood Mental Health Team, and you will be working with people with complex mental health problems, their families and carers., To work as a member of the clinical service/ team, providing a high quality, specialist applied psychology service to clients, their families or carers. In addition, to support psychological practice within the team through consultation, supervision, formulation and training and by participating in systematic clinical governance. The practitioner psychologist / psychological therapist will contribute to the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that psychological aspects of patient care and risk management are considered and integrated into treatment plans.   • Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied psychology as approved by the HCPC, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.

    Professionally registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)., Experience of specialist psychological assessment, formulation and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings including outpatient, community, primary care, and inpatient settings.
  • Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis as practiced within the field of applied psychology.
  • Experience working with diverse client groups across the lifespan, managing a range of clinical severity, while maintaining professionalism in the face of emotional distress, verbal abuse, and potential physical threats.
  • Experience of applying psychology in different cultural contexts and working within a multicultural framework., Experience of offering teaching, training and/or supervision
  • Experience of representing psychology within the context of multidisciplinary care
  • Experience of working with the particular client group served by the team/service
  • Knowledge of national and local guidance and legislation in relation to the client group.
