Where time permits, there may also be opportunities to be involved in audits and service development, support junior staff members, teaching/training, group work and transition work. There is also access to a range of department-wide and trust-wide learning opportunities/events to further develop your experiences of working within physical healthcare. We are looking for someone with:

  • Innovative ideas about how to make care accessible and effective for the communities we serve

Since 1997, the Haematology Psychology Service (HPS) has provided psychological support to patients with blood disorders and their families at GSTT. We are based within the haematology department at Guy's Hospital, with dedicated space in the Haemostasis & Thrombosis Centre at St Thomas' and are therefore well integrated within the multidisciplinary haematology teams. The HPS is led by the Consultant Clinical & Health Psychologist and comprises of Practitioner Psychologists of various grades including a Senior Assistant Psychologist. The service is a popular placement destination for Doctoral clinical psychology trainees, MSc health psychology trainees, and psychology undergraduates. We host the 8a community psychologist role within the South East London Sickle Cell Enhanced Community care pilot and the GSTT Infected Blood Psychological Service. We also meet regularly with other psychologists across GSTT and are involved in Trust-wide initiatives. We aim to attract a committed, diverse, and talented workforce who are passionate about delivering psychological care within an acute hospital setting and adapting approaches to meet the needs of our services and service users. In return, we offer a supportive, dynamic work setting where you can link with colleagues and develop your career. As a flexible working organisation, we are open to discuss flexible working on appointment.
