Symphony Healthcare Services has a vacancy for a Practice Nurse to join the team at Exmoor Medical Centre in Dulverton, Somerset. You'll be a key member of our nursing team, delivering high-quality patient care, alongside a committed and supportive team. They will work collaboratively with the whole general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required., Please see the attached job description and person specification document (JD) for a full list of duties, tasks and expectations associated with this role.

  • Registered nurse.
  • Willingness to learn and acquire new skills.
  • Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the NHS., Evidence of appropriate knowledge base.
  • Interest and basic knowledge in long-term conditions.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of audit., Suitable post registration experience.
  • Experience of working in a General Practice setting.
  • Experience of using a GP Clinical System (EMIS preferred).
  • Basic/advanced certificate of life support.
  • Undertaken mentorship training.
  • Awareness of the national service framework guidelines.
  • Understanding of health and safety issues., Good interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Evidence of problem-solving and decision making skills.
  • Demonstrates motivation, reliability and commitment to team working.
  • Knowledge of needs of patients with long-term conditions
  • Aware of accountability of own role and other roles in a nurse led service.
  • Knowledge of health promotion strategies
  • Awareness of clinical governance issues in primary care
  • Knowledge of patient group directions and associated policy., Able to use own initiative
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Able to work in a changing environment

    This is a permanent, part time post of 23 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. Working pattern (days and hours) will be discussed at interview. The annual salary for this post is £40,555.63 - £43,357.6 per annum (pro rata for part time hours); plus many excellent employee benefits (see attached poster for more information).
