Full Job Description
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist to lead cutting-edge research into biomarkers and disease mechanisms to enhance therapeutic development for RNUopathies, including ReNU syndrome. Based within the Big Data Institute (BDI) and the Institute of Developmental & Regenerative Medicine (IDRM), you will join a multidisciplinary team investigating therapeutic approaches for rare neurodevelopmental disorders caused by variants in small nuclear RNA (snRNA) genes.
You will lead bioinformatic and statistical analysis of large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets from human samples, cell lines, and mouse models; developing and implementing novel analytical approaches where appropriate; leading the research project; collaborating with internal and external researchers; contributing to the supervision of MSc and PhD students; maintaining high standards of data quality, integrity, and documentation; disseminating findings through publications, presentations, and conferences; engaging with patient advocacy groups; and supporting public engagement and outreach activities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to pioneering rare disease research within a highly collaborative environment and to develop your own scientific profile within a world-leading therapeutic genomics programme.
