Full Job Description
The project will combine genome engineering and acute protein perturbation with advanced genomic approaches to investigate chromatin structure, regulatory interactions and transcription. You will be responsible for planning and carrying out your own research, generating and analysing high-quality genomic data, developing and optimising experimental approaches and preparing findings for publication. You will work both independently and collaboratively with members of the Milne group and collaborating laboratories and will contribute to the supervision and scientific development of junior researchers.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher in Leukaemia Biology and Epigenomics in the Professor Thomas Milne group. The post will investigate how chromatin proteins, nucleosomes and transcriptional regulators control gene expression and three-dimensional genome organisation., You will hold a PhD, or be close to completion with thesis submitted at the time of application, in molecular biology, genetics, epigenetics, chromatin biology or a related discipline. You will have research experience in chromatin biology, transcription or gene regulation, together with experience in mammalian cell culture, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing and genomic or epigenomic approaches. Experience analysing genomic datasets and a strong understanding of transcriptional and chromatin regulatory mechanisms are also essential. Experience with mouse embryonic stem cells, inducible protein degradation systems, high-resolution chromosome conformation capture approaches such as Micro Capture-C, and techniques including CUT&Tag, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq or TT-seq would be desirable.
The post is fixed-term contract until 31 March 2027, funded by the Medical Research Council.
