Post 16 SEN Teacher Start Date: September 2026 Location: Waltham Forest Full-time Salary: M1 - M6 (Outer London) + SEN Allowance About the role/school An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Post 16 SEN Teacher to join a highly regarded specialist school in Waltham Forest from September. This SEN Teacher role will be based within a functional skills class, supporting pupils aged 16+ with a range of additional needs including ASD, moderate learning difficulties, and communication needs. The school is well known for its outstanding SEN provision and strong focus on preparing students for adulthood, independence, and life beyond education. As a Post 16 SEN Teacher, you will be delivering a practical and engaging curriculum with a strong emphasis on literacy, numeracy, life skills, and employability. This SEN Teacher position would suit a teacher with SEN experience who is passionate about supporting young people in achieving meaningful outcomes. Job Responsibilities Plan and deliver
functional skills lessons in English and maths, tailored to individual EHCP targets.
Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure students make strong progress.
Support students with transition planning, independence, and preparation for further education or employment.Qualifications/Experience Qualified Teacher Status
Experience working as a Post 16 SEN Teacher or within SEN provision
Strong knowledge of functional skills and differentiated teaching
Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
