Porter - Prescot

We're currently recruiting a Porter to join Healthcare on a part time basis, contracted to 15 hours per week, working variable shifts at weekends. You'll play a vital part in keeping the hospital moving, caring for patients as you go and making sure people, equipment and samples get where they need to be. What you'll do

• Assisting patients with mobility and transporting them safely around the hospital, including transporting the deceased to the mortuary
• Moving equipment, supplies, blood samples, specimens, medication and medical records around the hospital
• Following strict infection control procedures to keep patients and staff safe
• Disposing of waste correctly, in line with waste management procedures
• Responding promptly in emergency situations to support hospital staff
• Helping patients, visitors and hospital staff in a friendly, helpful way
  
  Our ideal Porter will:
• Be physically fit and able to lift and push equipment
• Be compassionate and caring, with strong communication skills
• Be confident working in a hospital, aware that at times you'll meet patients who are very unwell or distressed
• Take pride in a clean and safe environment
• Hold a full UK driving licence, which is desirable but not essential
• Understand that this position is subject to a Disclosure & Barring Service check, with costs met by the employer
