Full Job Description

  • To arrive for work at the time specified on the Rota, correctly dressed for duty, as per the laid down procedure. To issue and control clean linen to assigned floors store rooms. To collect and control dirty linen from assigned floors and store rooms. To separate dirty linen. To collect and control rubbish from assigned floors and store rooms. To empty glass bins from assigned floors store rooms and clean them inside and out. To check and deliver guest amenities to assign floors store rooms. To deliver guest request. To deliver and change shower curtains in bedrooms. To tidy and mop linen cupboards on assigned floors. To ensure that trolley (250 Lt Capacity) is used to deliver clean linen and collect dirty linen on floors. To be able to move up to 200 kg trolley loaded with linen. To ensure that trolley is not over loaded with linen or left unattended on floors. To perform any other task as directed by the Linen Room Supervisor or the Assistant Executive Housekeeper; including 'spring
  • cleaning' and other ad-hoc tasks such as : cleaning Fire Exit stair cases, high dusting, wash net guest bedrooms and function rooms net curtains, spot clean carpet, strip guest rooms, move furniture, move skips and trolleys that can normally be attributed to the role of Linen Porter. To be fully conversant with all Hotel and Departmental policies and procedures. To assist in any special projects as required and assist fellow employee to perform similar or related jobs To ensure all equipment are kept in a clean and safe condition and stored in nominated store room / area at the end of each shift. To ensure that the work assigned is completed before you go off duty. To report defective material or equipment to the Linen Room Supervisor or the Executive Housekeeper. To Inform the Linen Room Supervisor or the Assistant Executive Housekeeper of any irregularities in the conduct and/or appearance of staff from another department. To ensure that the Corridors, Landing areas, fire exits, fire doors, store rooms and Linen Room are tidy and clean at all times. To ensure that linen stock is properly used to prevent soiling, damage and wastage. To ensure that reject linen is identified, removed and put in correct skip daily. To report the linen quality to the Linen Room Supervisor on regular bases. To store clean linen in a clean and safe area. To remove net curtains from bedrooms for washing and return back. To report the shortage of linen, blankets, mattress protector's pillows, bathrobes, shower curtains etc. to the Linen Room Supervisor or the Assistant Executive Housekeeper in his / her absents. To assist in carrying out inventories of linen and other items in guest rooms as directed by the Linen Room Supervisor or the Executive Head Housekeeper. To work in conjunction with the Linen Room Supervisor to implement re-training or additional training when is needed and identified. To attend all Housekeeping meetings and relevant training sessions.
  • To report all malfunctions in your area to the Linen Room Supervisor or Assistant Executive Housekeeper. To ensure all equipment is well maintained and in proper functional order. Report any malfunctions to the Linen Room Supervisor or an Assistant Executive Housekeeper. To report immediately any matters concerning to the Linen Room Supervisor of the floor. To ensure safe return of all keys in his/her possession. To hand in all lost and found articles to the Housekeeping Office immediately upon finding.
  • To report immediately any Health and safety hazards to the Linen Room Supervisor or the Executive Head Housekeeper. To report immediately to the Duty Manager any accidents that it may occur to you. To report fire or bomb threats to the Linen Room Supervisor or the Executive Head Housekeeper immediately. To report immediately to the Linen Room Supervisor or the Assistant Executive head Housekeeper if you meet any strange or aggressive guest. To comply with set standards of behaviour, discipline and appearance within the hotel. To comply with the Hotel's Health, Safety and Hygiene policy. To perform related duties in Housekeeping Department and related departments and special projects as assigned. To comply with the Hotel and Departmental Fire and Bomb procedures. To comply with the KCH Risk assessments and COSHH regulations. To comply with the Hotel and Departments Environmental procedures To be prepared and able to cover any other position and duties as
  • required. This includes acting as the Day and Evening Linen Porter or carrying out Room Attendant duties whenever is necessary. Key performance indicators:
  • Customer Feedback Complaints and Compliments Completion of tasks on shift Team feedback 1:1 with Manager

    Basic numeracy and literacy. Must have the ability and keenness to work on own initiative and be part of the team. Have good manual handling skills. Good communicator. Awareness of Equal Opportunities.
