We're looking for enthusiastic Pool Lifeguard Team Members to join our team at Your Space Hoyland. Become part of our Leisure Team and help people feel good every day. As a Pool Lifeguard, you'll play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for all our customers. You'll work closely with colleagues across the centre, communicating effectively, sharing ideas and supporting one another to deliver the best possible experience. We are looking for team players who are proactive, customer-focused and always willing to lend a hand when needed. At Your Space, we are passionate about developing our people. We'll help you build on your existing skills and explore a range of career development opportunities across the business, including Front of House, Aquatics, Fitness, Events and more. As a Pool Lifeguard, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Supervising pool users and ensuring a safe environment at all times.
- Carrying out lifeguard duties in accordance with NPLQ and site procedures.
- Responding appropriately to emergencies and administering first aid when required.
- Setting up and maintaining poolside equipment.
- Completing routine poolside checks and safety inspections.
- Supporting with the cleanliness and presentation of the poolside, changing village and surrounding areas.
- Providing excellent customer service and assisting customers with enquiries.
- Promoting a welcoming, inclusive and friendly atmosphere for all visitors.
- Supporting swimming lessons, pool programmes and centre activities where required.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the centre operates safely and efficiently.
Current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) - Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond confidently in emergency situations.
- A positive, proactive and team-focused attitude.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness. Desirable
- Previous experience working within a leisure, sport or customer service environment.
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience working with a diverse range of customers and communities.
