Are you an experienced investigator looking for an opportunity to make a real difference in your community? Cleveland Police is seeking dedicated and professional Police Staff Investigators (PIP Level 2) to join two specialist investigative teams. These roles offer the chance to work within highly rewarding areas of policing, supporting victims, progressing complex investigations, and helping deliver justice across Cleveland. Whether your passion lies in safeguarding vulnerable people or investigating serious historical offences, we have opportunities to utilise your skills and experience within our specialist departments., Join our Protecting Vulnerable People team investigating some of the most serious and sensitive crimes, including rape, familial child abuse, child sexual exploitation and offences involving vulnerable adults. You will work closely with victims, witnesses and partner agencies to safeguard those at risk and support the delivery of justice. Police Staff Investigator Level 2 - Historical Investigation Unit (12-Month Fixed Term) Become part of our Historical Investigation Unit, supporting complex investigations into historic offences. You will play a key role in progressing sensitive enquiries, engaging with victims and witnesses, and ensuring investigations are conducted professionally, ethically and with a victim-focused approach.
- PIP Level 2 accreditation (applications from PIP Level 1 investigators seeking progression to PIP Level 2 will also be considered)
- Strong investigative and analytical skills
- Experience managing complex investigations
- Excellent communication and interviewing skills
- The ability to engage sensitively with vulnerable victims and witnesses
- Strong decision-making and organisational abilities
- Experience preparing high-quality case files and court documentation
- Commitment to professionalism, integrity and public service
- Good IT skills and experience using investigative systems
