POCT- Specialist Biomedical Scientist

The successful applicant joining the team as a Specialist Biomedical Scientist, will play a pivotal role in the delivery of high-quality Point of Care Testing services within the team to support our end users and the patients they care for., o To practice as a Specialist Biomedical Scientist in POCT across all sites within CUH remit.o To assist in service delivery providing high level support and training of end users/staff in use of POCT equipment, deputising for the Quality Lead where necessary.o Act as an implementation specialist to support project management of device integration into the service.o Be the eHospital Application Analyst for the team, you will be qualified in at least one Epic application (training provided) and will work with the eHospital analyst team to deliver changes related to the POCT service.o You will communicate regularly with POCT service users listening to and analysing their needs, and help them to agree clinical best practice standards, future workflows and system optimisation. You will analyse current workflows and either match these to those already built into the Epic system or negotiate and facilitate agreement for changes in working practice. You will also modify the Epic system
using configuration tools to tailor the system so it works effectively for our patients and staff.o You will help to test the system thoroughly to ensure that it is safe, usable, secure and robust to ensure it works as expected.

You must have a relevant IBMS Specialist diploma or equivalent qualifications or equivalent experience. Applications may be accepted from HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists who are currently progressing through the IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Point of Care Testing. Successful candidates that have not yet finished the portfolio will be paid on AfC Band 5 based on their experience at that grade, until completion and successful assessment and award of their qualification by the IBMS.
