Full Job Description
As an apprentice, you will combine practical, on-the-job experience with formal training, developing the skills needed to become a qualified plumbing and domestic heating technician. You will work alongside experienced professionals and progressively take on more responsibility as your skills develop. The role can involve working both inside and outside properties and will provide experience across a wide range of plumbing and heating systems., As you develop throughout the apprenticeship, you will learn to:
- Measure, cut, bend and connect metallic and plastic pipework
- Carry out first and second fix plumbing work
- Install and maintain plumbing and domestic heating systems
- Work with equipment including water pumps, thermostats, pressure relief valves and other plumbing and heating components
- Install waste, soil stack and rainwater pipework
- Assist with the installation, commissioning and decommissioning of equipment and appliances
- Work from drawings and specifications
- Identify the correct materials required for installations
- Follow health and safety procedures and industry standards
- Work alongside experienced tradespeople and other site teams
- Develop the ability to work independently as your skills and confidence progress
We are looking for enthusiastic candidates to join a, Level 2 Plumbing Studies Diploma - English and Maths at GCSE Grade 3 or above, or Functional Skills Level 1 or above
- Strong interest in becoming a qualified plumber
Typical start time between 7:00am and 8:00am - Includes 8 hours of paid college/training time
- Apprenticeship duration of up to 48 months, depending on previous qualifications
- The role involves manual handling of loads up to 25kg
- You may work outdoors and on uneven terrain
- Candidates must be committed to completing the apprenticeship and progressing towards becoming a qualified plumber
