We are working closely alongside a local authority in Bromsgrove District and Redditch to assist with the appointment of a Plumber on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration., Bromsgrove District and Redditch Borough Council are seeking a skilled and reliable Plumber to join the Facilities & Environmental Services team. This role is focused on maintaining the safety, functionality, and comfort of council-owned properties. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from initial "1st fix" installations in new or refurbished projects to "2nd fix" finishing and essential reactive repairs. This is a public-facing role requiring high standards of customer service and technical proficiency to ensure residents receive high-quality plumbing services.,
- Install carcass pipework for hot and cold water, sanitation, and heating systems within council properties during refurbishments or new builds.
- Connect and install sanitary ware, including sinks, toilets, baths, showers, and radiators, ensuring all connections are watertight and meet building regulations.
- Perform scheduled checks on water systems to prevent future failures and ensure compliance with health and safety standards (e.g., Legionella monitoring where applicable).
- Ensure all work complies with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations and current Building Regulations.
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Domestic Heating (or equivalent City & Guilds qualification)., Valid CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme). - Proven experience working within council properties or social housing environments, demonstrating an understanding of the specific needs of tenants.
- Comprehensive knowledge of domestic plumbing systems, including vented and unvented hot water cylinders and central heating pipework.
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence (for travel between council sites).
