Full Job Description

  • Install, assemble, and secure plastic pipe systems (e.g. PVC, HDPE, ABS, PP).
  • Cut, shape, fuse, weld, solvent-cement, or mechanically join plastic pipes and fittings.
  • Read and follow technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Measure, mark, and prepare pipe runs with high accuracy.
  • Install supports, brackets, and hangers to ensure correct pipe alignment.
  • Test completed pipework for leaks, pressure, and functionality.
  • Carry out maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on existing systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant industry standards, regulations, and site procedures.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Work collaboratively with other trades, supervisors, and site managers.
  • Always follow health and safety policies, including PPE requirements., May involve working indoors or outdoors, sometimes in confined spaces.
  • Manual handling, standing, kneeling, and working at height may be required.
  • Travel to different sites may be necessary depending on the project.

  • Proven experience working with plastic piping systems.
  • Knowledge of pipe fusion, solvent welding, and mechanical jointing methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Strong practical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good problem-solving and fault-finding ability.
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements on construction or industrial sites.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good communication and time-management skills., NVQ / SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Pipefitting, Plumbing, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Relevant plastic welding or fusion certifications (advantageous).
  • Site safety certification (e.g. CCNSG Safety Passport, CSCS or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in construction, utilities, industrial, or manufacturing environments
