Job Description

Plasterer The Army United Kingdom £27,282 a year (after training) Work on building projects around the world. As a full-time soldier, entry-level Plasterer in the British Army, you'll:

• Add finishing touches to buildings including headquarters, hospitals and military bases


• Master trades including plaster boarding, painting and tiling


• Become an expert in skills like glazing and scaffolding


• Carry out work on a variety of military and civilian projects


• Study for qualifications including an NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Building and Structural Finishing (Military Engineering)

Qualifications

• Be between 16 years 6 months and 35 years 6 months


• Have a GCSE Grade A-C/9-5 or Scottish National 5 in Maths, English Language and one other subject


• Be able to pass a basic fitness test

Step 2 will be 12 weeks at the Royal School of Military Engineering where you'll learn military engineering skills including demolition and bridge building.

Step 3 will be 24 weeks of technical training at the Royal School of Engineering learning about dry lining, painting, wall and floor tiling, planning and site safety.

Working Hours

And unless you're away on operations or training exercises, you'll normally work 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
