Job Description
Plasterer The Army United Kingdom £27,282 a year (after training)
Work on building projects around the world. As a full-time soldier, an entry-level Plasterer in the British Army, you'll:
- Add finishing touches to buildings including headquarters, hospitals, and military bases
- Master trades including plaster boarding, painting, and tiling
- Become an expert in skills like glazing and scaffolding
- Carry out work on a variety of military and civilian projects
- Study for qualifications including an NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Building and Structural Finishing (Military Engineering)
Qualifications
To qualify, you must:
- Be between 16 years 6 months and 35 years 6 months
- Have a GCSE Grade A-C/9-5 or Scottish National 5 in Maths, English Language, and one other subject
- Be able to pass a basic fitness test

Training Steps:
- Step 1: Initial military training teaching you how to be a soldier, which will be basic military training if you're a Junior Soldier or adult basic training if you're a Regular Soldier.
- Step 2: 12 weeks at the Royal School of Military Engineering, learning military engineering skills including demolition and bridge building.
- Step 3: 24 weeks of technical training at the Royal School of Engineering, learning about dry lining, painting, wall and floor tiling, planning, and site safety.
