Full Job Description

As a Plasma Healthcare Assistant, youll play a vital role in saving and improving lives by supporting the collection of plasma and other blood products used to help patients across the UK.

Youll guide donors through every stage of their donation journey, from welcoming them and carrying out pre-donation checks to monitoring their wellbeing and ensuring a positive experience.

Youll receive training to develop specialist healthcare skills, including venepuncture, while working as part of a supportive team focused on donor safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Every donation you help collect contributes to the supply of life-saving medicines, giving your work real purpose and impact., Make a meaningful contribution to patient care by supporting the safe collection of plasma and other blood products that help save and improve lives.

Deliver a caring and professional donor experience, building positive relationships and supporting donors throughout their donation journey.

Learn and develop specialist healthcare skills, including venepuncture, while following clinical, regulatory and quality standards.

Monitor donor wellbeing, respond appropriately to concerns and escalate issues to help maintain a safe donation environment.

Ensure equipment, records and collected products meet required quality and safety standards for onward processing and distribution.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote safe working practices, share knowledge and support the development of team members.

Help improve donor retention by encouraging future appointments and delivering an experience that donors want to return to.

Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, inclusivity and excellence by sharing feedback and supporting positive change.
