Plant Nursery Apprentice

(30 hours per week in Year One increasing to 35 hours per week in Year Two, Monday to Friday)
This is an exciting opportunity to gain excellent skills and experience within a large plant production Nursery/Retail Nursery adjacent to Blaise Castle Estate. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who likes working with plants and in the outdoors primarily and take pride in their work.
What the team does:
The Nursery produces plants/hanging baskets for over 20 Local Authorities throughout the country and for the Retail Shop on site. The role would involve assisting in the production and delivery of top-quality bedding plants, pot plants and hanging baskets to contractual specifications and be part of a small, friendly and hard-working team., The role would involve assisting in the production and delivery of top-quality bedding plants, pot plants and hanging baskets to contractual specifications and for the Retail Shop and be part of a small, friendly and hard-working team.
The apprentice will be based at Blaise Nursery.

Where this role could lead
For example: Through the development during your apprenticeship role both on the job and by gaining formal qualifications you could be in an ideal candidate to apply for a career role in commercial plant production.
There is also a retail unit at Blaise Nursery and the role would also involve working within this area.

To apply for an adult apprenticeship, you must be aged 16 years or over, at the start of employment with qualifications in English and Maths. If you do not have these, then you must be prepared to study for the Function Skills Level 2 in both subjects alongside your apprenticeship.
