Full Job Description
As a Planning and Reporting Systems Lead, you'll help maintain, develop and optimise the University's suite of planning and modelling tools - including Anaplan, SWARM, Project Online and our core finance system (T1). You will help ensure these systems deliver robust data, actionable insights and efficient processes to stakeholders across Professional Services and academic areas. You'll also play a vital role in upcoming transformation initiatives, including selecting replacements for SWARM and Project Online, improving planning processes, and contributing to future system designs. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a skilled, supportive team covering data modelling, reporting, visualisation and systems analysis - a great foundation for developing a career in planning, analytics or enterprise systems.
We're looking for someone who brings a blend of analytical skill, technical capability and strong interpersonal engagement.,
- Experience in planning, forecasting or budgeting within an ERP environment (e.g., T1, Unit4, Netsuite).
- Solid data modelling and analysis skills, with an eye for detail.
- The ability to translate complex business needs into effective technical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills - able to explain technical concepts to non-specialists.
- Confidence working independently, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.
- High digital literacy, especially in spreadsheets; BI tools experience is a bonus. It would be great if you also have:
- Experience building planning models (Anaplan, Cognos, Hyperion or similar).
- Knowledge of BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau or Cognos.
- Understanding of SQL or relational databases.
- Experience in the Higher Education sector or in large, complex organisations.
- A relevant degree, with additional accountancy qualifications being an advantage. Personal Qualities

This full-time post is available immediately on a permanent basis. The starting salary will be from £43,482 to £46,049 on grade F, depending on knowledge, skills and experience. This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campus and some from home.
