Full Job Description
Chichester District is a highly attractive place to work and we are seeking a Planner to join our Planning Policy, Infrastructure and CIL Team to administer the Council's Community Infrastructure Levy service across the area of Chichester District, excluding the area covered by the South Downs National Park. Chichester District Council collects Developer Contributions from developers through section 106 agreements and the Community Infrastructure Levy. Since adopting the Community Infrastructure Levy in February 2016, we have collected over £25 million to fund improvements to our local infrastructure including highways, public transport, community facilities and green infrastructure. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support the effective monitoring and enforcement of the Community Infrastructure Levy, which is expected to raise over £10 million in contributions from developers towards infrastructure projects by 2030. You will work as part of a team to provide an efficient and helpful service to assess the amount of CIL contributions due from development proposals, respond to customer queries in a timely fashion and provide support to colleagues in the allocation and spending of funds. Providing excellent customer care is important to us, and we are seeking individuals who are knowledgeable but with a desire to develop and learn, excellent team players, proactive, and committed to meeting the needs of our customers. Membership of the RTPI, knowledge of the CIL regulations, related caselaw and developer contributions monitoring software, such as Exacom, is highly desirable. Chichester District Council offers flexible working patterns including homeworking, the option of a 9 day fortnight, in addition to options to buy additional annual leave, and payment of RTPI subscriptions. The Council recognises the importance of staff well-being and promotes a healthy work/life balance, including the ability to operate from home as well as from the office, reduced membership fees at Everyone Active leisure centres and access to a wide range of other fitness activities and social clubs. Staff can use an additional 30 minutes per week towards any Wellbeing service we provide at the council or to take part in a class at an Everyone Active Leisure Centre.
