Full Job Description

If so, our role for a talented and motivated Senior Administrator within the busy Repairs and Maintenance Department may be of interest to you. For an informal discussion, please contact Kay Atherton - Project Manager at Job Introduction You will be working alongside other Senior Administrators, directly reporting to Project Managers to deliver repairs across multiple sites and trades and will be responsible for scheduling work for a multi-disciplinary team who deliver high standard housing repairs and project activities to Housing properties across the City. You will have excellent customer service skills and an understanding of the needs of our diverse staff and customers and be able to tailor delivery accordingly to the highest standard and most efficient timescales. The service currently has a considerable backlog of outstanding repairs and you will play a key role in tackling this work and being proactive in motivating your direct reports to achieve targets and deadlines to realise these goals. This is an opportunity to develop your line management experience in a fast-paced environment. Leading by example and providing help and support to your direct reports to ensure the very best performance from your team is an absolutely crucial part of the role.

Do you have excellent organisational skills and do you enjoy planning and scheduling tasks? Would you like to gain experience managing a small team of busy administrators? Are you excited by the prospect of supporting a large team of trade staff over a range of sites and disciplines? Do you have a strong customer focus to support a team to deliver works to the best standard and timescales, keeping our residents at the heart of the job?, We are keen to hear how your experience and skills align to our values and the skills and experience needed to perform well in our roles with clear real examples from you. To support you in this, we have guidance on using the STAR model which can help you ensure you are telling us your whole story. We also provide clarity on the skills we are looking for in our adverts and in the job description/person specification attached to each job advert. All the applications we receive are read by at least two hiring managers and we do not use AI in this process. Our experience of reading applications is that those that have heavily used AI contain generic paragraphs that are strikingly similar to other applicants' responses. This makes it extremely difficult to differentiate between applications, and doesn't give us enough evidence of your individual skills. There is a risk that we will therefore not be able to shortlist you. Instead, we recommend you ensure your application stands out by presenting clear examples of your actual skills and experiences in your own words.

In return for your skills and hard work, we offer:

  • A standard working week of 37 hours per week plus 5.5 hours of contracted overtime (Monday - Friday 08.00 - 17.00).
  • A full induction with job shadowing and on-going mentoring and development
  • Paid annual leave
  • Pension scheme
  • As a frontline service, this is a full-time office based post, not a hybrid working opportunity. Encouraging a diverse workforce Our city is known and loved for its diversity.
