Planner

You will be involved in driving forward the future of Blackpool helping deliver the new Local Plan. You will have a key role to play in shaping and influencing this new plan to ensure sustainable high quality development that promotes the resort, enhances our communities, protects the vulnerable and changes the face of our town for the better.

We are currently looking for two senior planners to join the team working 37 hours a week (part time will be considered) on a salary which ranges from £43,149 to £47,665.

With a population of around 141,000 living in a borough of less than 35 square kilometres, Blackpool is an incredibly compact urban authority with a unique seaside heritage of roller coasters, piers and the iconic Blackpool Tower.

However, the town suffers from high levels of inner area deprivation that sadly top the national charts presenting a huge challenge. We are a Unitary Authority which brings together the functions of planning, highway management, public protection, social care, education and health which enables a truly holistic approach to development and regeneration.
