Physiotherapist

This is a specialist role for a Physiotherapist with an interest in respiratory care and rehabilitation who is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care closer to patients' homes. Working across a variety of community, outpatient and hospital settings, you will play a key role in providing specialist respiratory assessment and treatment, supporting patients to manage their condition and improve their quality of life. You will contribute to the delivery of our established Pulmonary Rehabilitation programme and work collaboratively with colleagues across primary, community and secondary care to support patients living with chronic respiratory disease across Solihull. This role requires specialist knowledge and skills in respiratory physiotherapy and rehabilitation. The successful candidate will be supported to further develop their expertise in the assessment and management of patients with chronic respiratory disease and in the delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop specialist clinical, leadership and service development skills within a growing and innovative Community Respiratory Service. Main duties of the job

• Delivering specialist respiratory assessment and treatment for patients with chronic respiratory conditions across a variety of community settings.
• Managing a complex caseload and developing personalised treatment plans to promote independence, self-management and improved health outcomes.
• Contributing to the assessment and delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation programmes within hospital and community venues.
• Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Therapy Support Workers and Respiratory Consultants.
• Providing education, advice and support to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
• Supervising, supporting and developing junior staff, students and support workers.
• Participating in service development, clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.
• Supporting the implementation of evidence-based practice and continuous improvement across Community Respiratory Services.
• Participating in the physiotherapy on-call service following completion of training and competency assessment.

• Registered with Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC).
• A levels or equivalent qualification.
• Good standard of general education including GCSE Maths and English grade C and above.
• Evidence of CPD including recent post graduate training relevant to clinical speciality.
Desirable
• Member of specialist interest group.
• Attendance at Clinical Educators course.
Experience Essential
• Demonstrates clinical experience enabling the post holder to manage a caseload of patients within this speciality / within the NHS with experience of elderly and frail elderly, respiratory, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
• Experience of working on a physiotherapy on-call service.
• Experience of working with student physiotherapists and assistants.
• An ability to analyse clinical and non-clinical complex facts and situations, which require the interpretation and comparison of a range of options.
• An ability to plan, organise, formulate and adjust complex plans.
• An ability to supervise and delegate work to physiotherapists, assistants and students.
Desirable
• It is desirable that the candidate will have had some experience within speciality area., Demonstrate enthusiasm, vision and a desire to achieve.
• Committed to developing expertise within physiotherapy and clinical speciality.
• Demonstrate a forward-thinking and professional attitude.

• Able to contribute to the 7 day weekend service, extended out of hours and overnight on-call Respiratory Physiotherapy service.
