Full Job Description
Cardiff & Vale UHB are looking for a Phlebotomy Supervisor to work between UHW and UHL hospital sites 37.5 hours per week.
The department provides a phlebotomy service for Secondary Care, Out Patient Departments and Primary Care across Cardiff and the Vale.
The successful candidates will need to have good communication and problem solving skills and be able to work under pressure. You would be required to supervise the day to day running of the phlebotomy team ensuring that staff allocated to service needs in a timely manner and support the phlebotomy management team in the overall service delivery.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply., Good communication and the ability to communicate at all levels are essential to this role as is a working knowledge of all phlebotomy procedures. The ability to manage the service demands and changes is an essential part of this role. The Supervisor will also support the departmental training programme. The role also requires the individual to assist with concerns, audits, absence management and stock management.
The post will involve working as a phlebotomist when service delivery requires so it is essential that the post holder is phlebotomy trained.
