Full Job Description
We are looking for a phlebotomist to join our team within a busy GP practice environment. This patient-facing role is integral to supporting the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of patients by delivering a safe, efficient and high-quality blood collection service. You will work with a broad range of patients and collaborate closely with GPs, nurses and the wider practice team to ensure excellent standards of care. - Deliver a professional phlebotomy service by obtaining patient consent, performing venepuncture safely and adhering to clinical protocols while providing an excellent patient experience.
- Accurately record patient information, label and manage specimens, resolve discrepancies and ensure samples are processed and transported to laboratories within required timescales.
- Work collaboratively with clinicians and practice colleagues to support service delivery, contribute to audits and continuous improvement initiatives, and promote high standards of patient care.
Relevant qualification in venepuncture and a good standard of education, including English and Mathematics (or equivalent). - Experience working within a General Practice setting and providing care or services directly to members of the public.
- Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills, with the ability to maintain accurate clinical records and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
