For this role it is necessary that you are a caring and courteous individual that can work under pressure in a challenging environment on a variety of; medical, surgical and acute wards in the role of a phlebotomist., The phlebotomy team is a dynamic team who work collaboratively to ensure all our patients who require blood sampling, receive this by a dedicated team of trained professionals who have the patient at the center of their work.

  • Experience of working within a healthcare setting

  • Experience of working within an acute healthcare setting, Venepuncture Training
  • Desirable criteria
  • NVQ 3 in care related field or equivalent
  • Cannulation training, Ability to work independently
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage own workload
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to prioritise and delegate
  • Ability to cover 7 day service and meet the needs of the service including all bank holidays
  • Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrate effective team working

  • Please note that the salary advertised is for full time hours. If this post is less than 37.5 hours per week, the salary will be pro-rata. For posts on Agenda for Change pay-scales, new entrants to the NHS will normally commence on the first pay point of the relevant band.

In line with other NHS organisations in the North West Region, the Trust is now passing the charge for undertaking a DBS check on to candidates in the event they are successfully appointed into the post for which they have applied. Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary.
