Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher who is ready to take the next step in leadership, or an existing middle leader looking to further develop their skills within a supportive and forward-thinking primary school. As Phase Leader, you will play a pivotal role in driving high standards of teaching and learning, supporting and developing colleagues, and ensuring every child thrives academically, socially and emotionally. We are looking for someone who leads by example, demonstrates excellence in the classroom and is passionate about inspiring both pupils and staff. You will work closely with senior leaders to promote a culture of ambition, collaboration and inclusion, while helping to shape the strategic direction of the phase and wider school community. Our school is proud of its nurturing ethos, high expectations and commitment to professional development. We value innovation, teamwork and the wellbeing of both pupils and staff, and we are seeking a leader who shares these values and is committed to making a difference every day.

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Demonstrate the ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team effectively.
  • Have experience of leading a curriculum area or school improvement initiative.
  • Maintain high expectations for teaching, learning, behaviour and pupil achievement.
  • Support and coach colleagues to secure continual improvement across the phase.
  • Use assessment and pupil progress data effectively to drive standards and outcomes.
  • Promote an inclusive learning environment where all children can succeed.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with staff, pupils, parents and external agencies.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Demonstrate resilience, professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Champion staff wellbeing while fostering a collaborative team culture.
  • Embrace innovation and the effective use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school and Trust community.
  • Share a genuine passion for education and a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • We can offer:
  • Enthusiastic and well-behaved children who love learning.
  • A supportive and collaborative leadership team.
  • A strong commitment to staff development and career progression.
  • A welcoming school community with a positive and inclusive ethos.
  • Opportunities to work collaboratively across the Trust.
  • A culture that values creativity, ambition and professional excellence.
  • We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
