Pharmacy Technician - Marlborough

Make a real impact on inpatient care through medicines optimisation. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our Medicines Optimisation Team supporting inpatient services across Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES), Swindon, and Wiltshire, with the primary base at Savernake Community Hospital. This is a key role in delivering a safe, efficient, and high-quality ward-based pharmacy service within a community hospital setting. You will play a vital part in supporting medicines optimisation in line with national and local policies, helping to improve patient outcomes through the safe, effective, and cost-conscious use of medicines. Key responsibilities will include supporting cost-effective prescribing, contributing to medicines budget management, reducing medicines wastage, and supporting wider medicines management and service improvement initiatives. You will work with a high degree of autonomy within agreed guidelines, using
your initiative to support the delivery of the wider medicines optimisation strategy. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide professional medicines-related advice and support to clinicians, nursing staff, and patients., As a Pharmacy Technician - Marlborough, you will join the Medicines Optimisation Team, supporting inpatient services across BaNES, Swindon, and Wiltshire, primarily based at Savernake Community Hospital. You will play a critical role in delivering a safe and efficient ward-based pharmacy service. Your responsibilities include supporting cost-effective prescribing, medicines budget management, and reducing medicines wastage. You will provide professional advice to clinicians and patients and respond to daily medication queries with strong communication and organizational skills. This role offers 22.5 hours per week and an NHS Pension with AfC terms, with salary ranging from £32,073 to £39,043 FTE. Join us to make a significant impact on patient care and service delivery.
