Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team at HMP Millsike, a Category C men's prison, located in Full Sutton near York. HMP Millsike is a newly built prison with an operational capacity of 1500 places. As part of the governments drive to cut reoffending prisoners spend their sentences learning the skills they need to find work on release. You will be part of a new Pharmacy Team, including Pharmacists, a Pharmacy Manager and Accuracy Checking Technicians. There are lots of opportunity for development within this role including ACT training upon successful completion of probation. Hours Working 37.5 hours a week with alternate weekends, working on a 10 week rolling rota, which ensures good breaks and work life balance. Weekend hours are 8.00am -5.45pm. Week 1: 3 long days/ 6.45am-7.15pm Week 2: 2 long days/ 6.45am-7.15pm, As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.
- Hold direct patient contact, which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison services needs
- Share Information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines management, drug regimes, medicines

Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council - Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
- Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
- Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
