Pharmacy Technician

We are looking to expanding our Pharmacy Technician Team due to the increased workload. You will work closely with other other 2 Pharmacy Technicians, PCN Pharmacists, the GPs and our wide GP Practice Teams to ensure the safe and effective use of medicines as well as support our patients to make best use of their medicines. You will already be registered with the GPhC and practicing safely and effectively at all times., The Pharmacy Technician supports safe, effective, and cost-efficient prescribing within the practice by managing medication records, processing repeat prescriptions, and ensuring accuracy following hospital discharges. They work closely with the multidisciplinary team to monitor high-risk medicines, respond to drug safety alerts, and liaise with pharmacies, patients, and care homes.

The role also involves auditing prescribing practices, implementing national and local guidelines, improving medicines optimisation, and reducing waste. Additionally, the technician contributes to quality improvement initiatives, supports patient safety processes, and helps maintain compliance with legal and professional standards while keeping up to date with current prescribing guidance.

Orchard Medical Practice is a large NHS GP Practice based within the grounds of Mansfield Community Hospital, serving around 20,000 patients. We provide a wide range of primary care services, including GP consultations, chronic disease management, minor surgery, immunisations, and health clinics.
