We are looking for an enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our expanding medicines management team at Wide Way Medical Centre. We currently employ 1 Pharmacy Technician and 1 Clinical Pharmacist and are recruiting a second Clinical Pharmacist to the team, but recognise we need to expand to meet the needs of our 16,000 population., The Pharmacy Technicians will assist the Clinical Pharmacists with a range of medicines management activities i.e. medicine related policies, protocols and procedures, their communication and implementation under the guidance of the partnership. This includes:

- Implementing policies, protocols and procedures pertaining to the prescription of medication by Wide Way Medical Centre staff

- Implementing repeat medication procedures, liaising closely with non-clinical staff

- Reconciling medicines for patients who are started on new medication and/or whose medication is changed by other healthcare providers

- Conducting annual reviews of medication for specified cohorts of patients (SMR) within their scope of practice

- Ensuring medication monitoring is completed, carrying out medication safety audits and responding to safety alerts

- Ensuring procedures for the issuing, delivery and claiming for Personally Administered Items (PAIs) are followed, liaising with clinical staff and the nursing team who administer them

- Liaising with local community pharmacists to build strong collaborative relationships with regular meetings to ensure efficient collaborative working

- Liaising with ICS Place and PCN pharmacists to deliver on national, regional and local priority initiatives

- Helping to answer internal and external medication-related queries within their scope of practice

- Delivering on medication-related Quality Improvement activities, Our team consists of 4 GP Partners plus a Managing Partner, 5 Salaried GPs, 2 Advanced Care Practitioners, Practice Nurses, a Paramedic, Social Prescriber, Health and Wellbeing Coach, Care Coordinators and a fantastic administrative support team.

We are a training practice with 4 GP trainers and we host GP registrars, medical students and nursing students.

the successful candidate will take part in the weekly cardiovascular optimisation meetings, planned care meetings and medicines management meetings to support the medicines management team

Wide Way Medical Centre is based in South West London.

We take care of almost 16000 patients in a modern, purpose built surgery with ample car parking.
