Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant

As a Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant you will:

• Support the delivery of a high-quality, patient-focused pharmacy service across our Outpatient and Homecare Pharmacy services.
• Use pharmacy systems to support stock ordering, stock control and accurate Patient Medication Records (PMRs).
• Participate in stock management activities, stock takes and discrepancy investigations.
• Support procurement and inventory administration processes, including supplier deliveries, credits and invoice reconciliation.
• Assist with pharmacy reception duties, OTC sales and customer enquiries.
• Support service improvement initiatives and contribute towards Pharmacy KPI delivery.
• Work collaboratively with Pharmacists, Technicians and wider healthcare colleagues to provide safe and effective pharmaceutical services.
  
  We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant to join our team within the QE Facilities Outpatient Pharmacy based in the Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust.
The role offers exposure to a wide variety of prescriptions, including specialist and high-risk medicines such as oral chemotherapy, IVF and Hepatitis C treatments, providing an excellent opportunity to further develop your dispensing knowledge and skills within a supportive team environment. We are looking for an individual who is pasionate about delivering excellent patient care, has strong attention to detail, enjoys working as part of a team, and takes pride in providing professional and customer-focused service. Applicants must hold a recognised NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services qualification (or equivalent dispensing qualification meeting GPhC requirements) and have previous experience working within a community or hospital pharmacy setting.
