It would be ideal for a newly qualified pharmacists looking for an opportunity to develop their career within a hospital setting. You will join our team in a Band 6 role and following the successful completion of your probationary period you will agree a number of objectives with your line manager and the Pharmacy Education Team which you will need to achieve in order to progress into a Band 7 role; these objectives will include both workplace tasks and self-directed learning with a suitable academic education programme., NHS Staff Survey: 73.4%of our staff feel they receive therespect they deserve from colleaguesa meaningful improvement from last year. You will become part of a growing team of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians who support patient care across a wide range of clinical specialties within the Trust. With the support of our Specialist Clinical Pharmacists and our Principal Pharmacists across a range of clinical specialities, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. In addition to delivering ward-based pharmaceutical care and providing clinical support to the dispensary, you will have the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of medicines optimisation and medicines safety activities as part of your wider medicines management role. This role is crucial to the delivery, development, and evaluation of pharmaceutical services across the hospital. It plays a key part in helping divisions optimise medicines use within available resources. Our standard working hours now consist of four long days per week; Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays are worked on a rota basis. After a period of induction and training, you will contribute to the pharmacy out-of-hours on-call service.

  • B.Sc. / B.Pharm. / M.Pharm
  • Registered with GPhC
  • Evidence of on-going CPD (in line with GPhC requirements), Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent eg. NQP/GLF)
  • Member of RPS, Experience working as part of a multi disciplinary team to provide patient care
  • Knowledge of the medical management of disease in a range of the specialties, Post registration experience in a hospital-based clinical pharmacy post
  • Experience of clinical audit work.
  • An awareness of current national standards, guidelines and service delivery issues.
  • Experience of Medicines Information.
  • Evidence of influencing medicines use to optimise care and help clinicians manage expenditure
  • Evidence of experience managing prioritisation in relation to the use of new drugs and new uses for drugs
  • Evidence of significant contribution to innovative or developmental roles and activities within pharmacy
  • Evidence of a good understanding of medicines management issues at the interfaces between primary, secondary and tertiary care, Effective and safe pharmaceutical skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work to deadlines
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise self and others and deal effectively with unexpected demands
  • I.T. skills such as computer literacy, word processing and spreadsheet skills.
