We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced and motivated pharmacist to lead in the development of an ADHD pharmacy service across Durham and Tees Valley.
This post was developed between the TEWV specialist Adult ADHD service and pharmacy service. The ADHD service provides a specialist assessment, diagnostic and treatment service for adults with a suspected ADHD. The service also offers advice on care management to individuals with a pre-existing diagnosis of ADHD at the request of other professionals involved with a person's care. You will also support the wider Trust pharmacy team in the delivery of clinical pharmacy services in the community.
The post is full time (37.5 hours) but we will consider part-time applications.

Visit https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa, This post will deliver the pharmacy ADHD service across Durham and Tees Valley and the successful applicant would be based at Lancaster House in Stockton. The post holder will work as part of the specialist service multidisciplinary team and will be supported to develop advanced clinical skills in a patient facing role, as well as providing training, education and advice to other TEWV community teams and primary care services., Our teams are friendly, supportive, and committed to providing the best possible services. We developed a 5-year Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Framework, which was co-created with the team enabling a shared set priorities.
Although deployed into the ADHD team, you will be part of the wider DTV Community Pharmacy services, which has recently expanded to include several advanced clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians working with CMHTs and have access to a network of support. You will also be supported by a lead pharmacist and lead pharmacy technician.
The Adult ADHD service employs a consultant psychiatrist specialising in ADHD and several clinical nurse specialists who will support your development in this area.

Prior experience of mental health pharmacy / ADHD is desirable but not essential as training will be provided. Candidates must have significant clinical pharmacy experience (hospital, primary care or community) and hold an independent prescribing qualification or be in the process of working towards.
We are looking for experienced pharmacists wishing to specialise in the area of ADHD and mental health. You should have enthusiasm, confidence and drive to make a real difference to the lives of patients with neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions.
Duties include: -
+ Implementing and delivering pharmacist led titration clinics for patients commencing ADHD treatment.
+ training and supervision of other members of staff
+ education and production of guidance for the trust's wider partners
You should have experience of patient counselling, prescription screening/checking and have underpinning clinical pharmacy skills and knowledge demonstrated by the attainment of a clinical diploma. Excellent communication skills are essential., Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the Durham Tees Valley area and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010. A lease car scheme is in operation.
