Personal Support Assistant

We are looking for a Personal Support Assistant to support a 15 year old young man with his morning and afternoon regimes, who lives in the Seamer, Scarborough

The hours are:

4 hours per week in the mornings

9 hours per fortnight

Plus 10 hours a week holiday Day Care

On a morning in terms time - It will include supporting him physically getting up, washed and dressed including personal care.

Helping him make breakfast and support him eating and accompanying him into the taxi with his escort.

On an afternoon it would involve being at his home for him arriving back in the taxi and supporting him with whatever he chooses to do. He generally likes to chill in his room just like most young people, therefore requires supervising and any personal care he may need.

Holiday day care will involve having days out with the young man such as going to garden centres, the beach, library, swimming, and joint days with his family. The working hours are often in a lively household environment.

Building a good relationship with him is based chatting, singing and lots of verbal interaction to make it rewarding for both.

Experience in working with children who have extreme/ unique special needs is essential for this position.

A DBS is also required and access to relevant training courses are available.

It is essential that the successful PA must be able to drive, as there will be a mobility car available.
