Personal Care Assistant

We are looking for an experienced Personal Care Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Oldham, supporting children and young people aged 7-18+ with a range of complex additional needs.

The school supports pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), autism, physical disabilities and complex medical and personal care needs.

This role will involve providing hands-on personal care throughout the school day, ensuring pupils are supported with dignity, patience and respect while encouraging independence wherever possible.

You will work closely with teaching assistants, teachers and other support staff to ensure pupils are comfortable, safe and able to access their daily learning activities.

Your Responsibilities

Providing personal care, including toileting, changing and supporting pupils with hygiene routines.

Please note: Applicants must already hold the required Child and Adult Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service to be considered for this position.

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS (child and adult workforce), satisfactory references, and full compliance with KCSIE (2026) guidance and safer recruitment standards. Overseas police checks may be required where applicable.

Previous experience providing personal care, ideally within an SEN school, care or healthcare setting.
