  • Manual handling, transfers from wheelchair, bed and in and out of the shower All aspects of personal care (selfcare) and hygiene Some domestic duties around the home to ensure risk of infection is reduced Preparation of meals and drinks Occasional escorting to appointments and social activities Catheter Crae Providing companionship I have a care package delivered by a small team of personal assistants in my home. I wish to recruit an individual to compliment my current team. You will need to be flexible and be willing to take up the opportunity of additional hours to help cover holidays and absences. Ia am seeking someone who can take instruction and guidance in managing my care requirements, Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
  • Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
  • Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
  • Support and/or prompt to attend appointments as necessary, e.g. hospital/doctors.
  • Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
  • The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required. You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

    I am both the employer and service user whereby I have PA's top provide my care and support via the direct payment scheme from Sunderland Social Care. I live in Houghton Le Spring and have a small team of PAs. I am currently seeking an additional PA to join my small, friendly and cohesive team. My home allows ample space for the required support. I have a range of complex health care needs and requirements associated with my disabilities. I have secondary progressive multiple Sclerosis and scoliosis which has a significant impact on my mobility. I am a wheelchair user; however, can somewhat weight bear during transfers. I have a catheter which will require my PA to assist with removal and insertion twice daily and assist me with all personal care requirements (showering, dressing etc.:) It is desirable to have someone who has the training requirements in place for Catheter Care however training can be provided to a suitable candidate. The PA I am seeking will join my small

    Successful candidates are required to undertake any training that is considered necessary and appropriate to the role.
  • Moving and Handling. Training will be provided by the employer. Catheter Care. PA must already hold relevant qualification. When you are Required: Specific days/times required:
  • Monday, 10am-12pm & 3pm-5pm
  • Tuesday, 10am-12pm & 3pm-5pm
  • Wednesday, 10am-12pm & 3pm-5pm, 11pm-12pm
  • Thursday, 10am-12pm & 3pm-5pm
  • 10am-12pm & 3pm-5pm Hours per week: 28 hrs per week Monday - 10am-12pm & 3pm-5pm Tuesday- 10am-12pm & 3pm-5pm Wednesday- 10am-12pm & 3pm-5pm, 11pm-12pm Thursday- 10am-12pm & 3pm-5pm Friday- 10am-12pm & 3pm-5pm Remaining hours to be used flexibly as and when across the week. Days, times Dates and times are flexible and can be discussed at interview.
