Full Job Description
Two positions available for Personal Assistants to provide support to a young person aged 13 with Autism, ADHD and a learning disability for 2:1 support both in the own home and within the local community. The role is initially focused on providing support within the home, giving the PA's time to get to know the young person, understand his interests and preferences, and build a positive, trusting relationship with him. As the relationship develops, the aim will be to gradually encourage and support him to access appropriate activities within the local community, helping him to develop confidence and independence. Duties will include:
- Supporting him to access the local community, including trips to the library, parks, and suitable activities.
- Teaching and reinforcing road safety skills and accompanying him on walks.
- Providing appropriate prompts to ensure he is tidy and presentable.
- Encouraging independence and helping him to develop confidence in everyday activities.
