Do you have some spare time each week to make a difference in a young person's life? Are you a caring, patient and motivated individual with a passion for supporting others and a sense of fun? If so, we would like to hear from you.

We are looking for someone to support a young man and act as a friend and mentor. Ideally with experience or knowledge of Autism and anxiety.

Your duties will include providing companionship and support to build confidence and promote independence and access the community for social/leisure activities. He is very creative, always with a project on the go therefore sharing his interests of woodwork, photography and baking would be advantageous.

No personal care is involved just reassurance and a calm, positive attitude as he can be anxious when leaving the house.

You must have excellent communication skills, be trustworthy and reliable.

A driver with a full clean licence is required.

Requirements

• Must be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check.


• This is a part time position for 6 hours per week initially (support is required for two afternoons - weekdays) with an hourly rate of £12.71 plus 5.6 weeks paid annual leave and workplace pension scheme.
