About the Direct Payment Holder L is a happy 23 year old lad who is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and a learning disability.
L follows Formula 1 he enjoys going to the cinema, garden centre and shopping for clothes. L also goes to drama club. In his downtime he enjoys relaxing with his girlfriend and her family and hanging out with his friends and his brother.
Hours and rate of pay hours 3 hours per week - Saturday or Monday
£15 per hour
Location Burwell - CB25
DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check
Right to Work and references will be needed.
What you would be doing… Supporting with travel training such as using the bus understanding timetables and paying fares.
Supporting L to understand the value of money.
Ordering/paying for drinks and food.
Generally expanding knowledge of life skills.
Required skills and experience If you have experience of supporting others in the community this would be preferred but is not essential, if you have lived experience of supporting someone in your family we would also like to hear from you.
We are looking for a cheerful and enthusiastic support worker who enjoys community based activities. Someone who will interact with L and be encouraging to promote independence and improve & develop skills. If you have similar interests that would be great.
L responds well to routine so good time keeping skills are important.
A driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential for this role - mileage money will be paid., Disability Confident
