About the Direct Payment Holder Support required for a middle aged lady with epilepsy who needs help being out and about in the community.


J has epilepsy and the seizures are helped by medication but not controlled. J cannot leave the house alone due to the type of seizures and medication memory problems, she also has some co-ordination difficulties.


Hours and rate of pay hours Up to 10 hours per week paid at £14.20 per hour.


Some flexibility when hours are worked but Tuesday afternoon will be required


Location March - PE15


DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check


Right to Work and references will be needed.


What you would be doing…


Accompanying J in the community, keeping her safe and managing her seizures, the seizures are mostly absence seizures where she becomes disorientated and unaware of her surroundings.


Accompanying J to doctors appointments and making notes of what is said to share with J's family.


Filling J's Pivotal meds fortnightly, meaning J can be independent with her medication.


Required skills and experience



  • Some experience of epilepsy is preferred - training will be provided.

  • It is important you are a patient person, someone who can be with J and looking out for her in a discreet way, not making it obvious J has a PA.

  • It is important that you can manage the unexpected, J's seizures are unpredictable in nature.
