Full Job Description
Nature of the job role: this role involves supporting a 6-year-old boy who has a keen interest in dinosaurs and enjoys spending time outdoors. Initially, support will be provided within the home environment, with the aim of gradually accessing his favourite community settings in a safe and supported manner, particularly the zoo and some local play areas.
Close supervision will be required to manage high risk taking behaviours when out in the community to ensure his safety and wellbeing. Occasional assistance with personal care may also be necessary.
As he is not always able to verbalise his needs and wishes, patience, understanding, and a willingness to build a trusting relationship are essential.
