Personal Assistant

Our customer is an 18-year-old man who requires a PA to support him in building confidence, developing independence and becoming more comfortable doing things away from his parents. The aim is to provide encouragement and companionship in a relaxed and supportive way, helping him to feel more confident in the community and develop his independence.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference by supporting a young person to build confidence, develop independence and feel more comfortable experiencing life outside of the family home. Duties include:

- Transportation

- Companionship

- Supporting him to access the community and take part in activities that he enjoys.

- Providing encouragement to help build his confidence and independence.

- Supporting him to become more comfortable spending time away from his parents.

- Building a positive, trusting and professional relationship with him.

- Encouraging communication and social interaction in a relaxed and enjoyable way.

- Helping him try new activities and experiences at his own pace.

- Providing companionship, reassurance and emotional support when needed.

Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality

- Reliable with good timekeeping

- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative

- Hygienic, tidy and well organised

- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills

- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard

- Must be comfortable with pets

- The ideal candidate will be understanding, empathetic and patient, with the ability to build rapport and develop a strong, supportive relationship. A good sense of humour and the ability to have a laugh and enjoy conversations together would be important. Additionally, someone who is comfortable around dogs and happy to have pets as part of the environment would be ideal.

- An understanding of Autism and ADHD would be beneficial, along with a calm and encouraging approach. The successful candidate should be reliable, trustworthy and able to recognise when support is needed while always promoting independence.
