Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, caring, and reliable Personal Assistant to support a 13 year old boy with autism in the Camborne area.
He enjoys the beach, swimming, cinema trips, walks and spending time on his Ipad.
The successful applicant will provide 1:1 support to help develop independence and encourage safety awareness, both at home and in the community. Support will also be required when out on family trips and activities.
This is a part-time role, offering 4 hours per week, with flexibility around when these hours are worked.
Availability at weekends and during school holidays is essential.
The hourly rate is £13.45, with a mileage allowance paid when the young person is transported in the PA's vehicle. You must have a full driving license and appropriate business cover to transport the young person.
Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people with special educational needs is essential. A driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
