Role overview:
As a Personal Advisor, you will provide relationship-based, person-centred support, helping care-experienced young people build confidence, resilience, and independence. You'll act as a consistent and trusted professional, ensuring young people are supported to achieve positive outcomes in line with statutory guidance.
What you will do:
Act as the named Personal Advisor for allocated care-experienced young people
Develop, implement, and review Pathway Plans, ensuring statutory compliance
Support young people to set goals and make informed life decisions
Provide practical support with housing, benefits, budgeting, education, training, and employment
Offer emotional support and encouragement, promoting resilience and independence
Advocate on behalf of young people, ensuring their voices are heard across services
Work closely with social workers and partner agencies, contributing to transition planning
Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, following council procedures
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records
Participate in supervision, training, and service development activities
Person specification / requirements

A relevant qualification in health, social care, youth work, or education is desirable but not essential
Willingness to undertake ongoing training and development
Experience:
Experience working with young people, particularly those who are care-experienced or from vulnerable backgrounds
Background in support work, youth work, housing, or family services is advantageous
