Personal Advisor

Are you passionate about making a lasting difference to the lives of care-experienced young people? We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Personal Advisor to join our Leaving Care Service and support young people as they transition into independent adulthood.

As a Personal Advisor, you will build positive and trusting relationships with young people, providing practical, emotional and social support tailored to their individual needs and aspirations. You will manage a caseload of Children in Care and Care Leavers, developing and reviewing Pathway Plans, advocating on their behalf, and helping them access the opportunities and services they need to thrive.

Working closely with colleagues and partner agencies across housing, education, health, social care and the voluntary sector, you will play a key role in supporting young people to secure suitable accommodation, engage in education, employment or training, and develop the skills and confidence needed for independent living., As Team Manager for the Children in Care Team, you will play a key role in helping us deliver our vision that every child in Nottingham is seen, heard, and supported to thrive. You will lead a dedicated team committed to providing stable, nurturing, and ambitious support for children and young people in our care, ensuring they have every opportunity to achieve positive outcomes and reach their full potential.

You will be responsible for overseeing high-quality social work practice, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met and children receive the right support at the right time. Through effective leadership and management oversight, you will ensure care planning is child-centred, purposeful, and focused on achieving permanence, stability and positive long-term outcomes for children and young people.

Working closely with foster carers, residential providers, education, health, and partner agencies, you will champion collaborative working that places children at the centre of decision-making. You will support children to maintain meaningful relationships, achieve their educational potential, and access the services and opportunities they need to thrive.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate manager with a strong understanding of children's social care and the needs of children in care. You will bring excellent leadership and practice development skills, alongside a commitment to relationship-based practice, high professional standards, and continuous improvement.

You will play a key role in driving high-quality practice across the team, ensuring children's voices are heard and their experiences shape the support they receive. Through effective leadership, you will help create a culture of aspiration, accountability and learning, improving life chances and achieving the best possible outcomes for children and young people across Nottingham.

We are looking for someone with experience of working with young people, strong communication and relationship-building skills, and a commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for care-experienced young people. You will be an effective advocate, organised in your approach to case management, and able to work collaboratively within a multi-agency environment.
