Full Job Description

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking a Personal Adviser to join the Ready to Work (RTW) team within Learning Skills and Workforce Development (LSWD). This is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting residents of the East Riding to overcome barriers and progress into employment, training or further learning. The role The postholder will provide high-quality advice, guidance and support to participants on both a one-to-one and group basis. You will assess individual needs, agree and review action plans, and support participants to achieve realistic and positive outcomes. Working as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team, you will liaise with employers, training providers and partner agencies to ensure participants receive coordinated, person-centred support. You will also contribute to meeting programme targets and maintaining accurate records in line with funding and quality requirements.,

  • Provide careers advice, guidance and ongoing support to programme participants
  • Assess learning, employment and support needs and develop tailored action plans
  • Support individuals facing barriers to progression, including health conditions, disabilities and long-term unemployment
  • Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, employers and partner agencies
  • Complete required documentation, reports and outcome evidence in line with service standards
  • Keep up to date with local labour market information, training opportunities and funding initiatives

    You will have experience of supporting individuals to achieve positive progression outcomes and be confident managing a caseload. You will be organised, resilient and able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
