These will foster a learning culture and promote social inclusion, enabling independence, and enhancing the autonomy of the service user., You will be responsible for holding your own caseload , be able to carry out initial assessments and communicate the outcomes back to the team. All service users under your care will have an up to date occupational therapy plan that has been negotiated with them to meet their individual needs
You will establish and maintain links with other agencies working with this patient group such as midwifery and health visiting teams to ensure that effective communication and interface takes place
You will also be able to establish and maintain links with other Occupational Therapists within in the Trust and across the perinatal network, participating in the development of Occupational Therapy within this speciality

You will be proactive in initiating and sustaining a respectful, consistent and reliable therapeutic relationship with service users that enhances their ability to build social networks and work in partnership with other agencies.

We are recruiting into Band 6 Occupational Therapist post in the Perinatal Community Mental Health Service.
This is a 12 month contract to cover maternity leave. The post is for 37.5 hours over 2 bases. this can be offered as a fulltime post or consideration would be given for part time/ job share.
The post is for 5 days per week, and will be based at Scarsdale in Chesterfield for 2 days with the North Perinatal Community Team and 3 day in Derby with the South Perinatal Community Team.
The service provides care and treatment for women who are suffering with severe and complex mental health problems from the end of the first trimester in pregnancy and during the postnatal period
The multi disciplinary team consists of Psychiatrists, CPN's, a Social Worker, Psychologists, Nursery Nurses, Peer Support Workers and admin.
The team is well established and has a wealth of experience and expertise in this area. It is also accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists Care Quality Network further enhancing the excellent reputation of the service
Local induction will be provided and there will also be an opportunity to access specialist training relevant to the role. There is also an opportunity to participate in local and external peer and accreditation reviews alongside members of the Quality Network
